MARTIN, Tenn. --
The Morehead State women's tennis team salvaged a split of an Ohio Valley Conference road trip this weekend with a 5-2 victory at UT Martin Sunday.

The Eagles (6-9/3-1 OVC) upended the Skyhawks (4-8/1-3) for the first time in Head Coach Kevin Fulton's tenure (since 2006).

"We came out with so much energy and never let up today," Fulton said. "After a tough loss yesterday (at Southeast Missouri), we bounced back big today. Everyone was an MVP."

Morehead State won all three doubles matches. Sophomore Briar Preston and junior Alex Tachovsky claimed an 8-3 decision over Ivon Simic and Sarah Candeloro at No. 1. On the second court, sophomores Dominique-Chante Mclean and Sandrine Beaule topped Jessica Silva and Tari Burcu, 8-5. Freshmen Andrea LeBlanc and Hayley Wild scooted past Hitomi Naito and Katie McCall 8-2 at No. 3.

MSU claimed singles wins at positions one, two, four and six. On court one, Preston remained undefeated (4-0) against conference foes, taking down Simic 6-0, 6-1. LeBlanc got the better of Candeloro 7-5, 6-4 at No. 2.

On court four, Tachovsky rallied to beat Turcu 5-7, 6-3, 10-8. Wild outlasted McCall 6-0, 4-6, 6-2 at No. 6.

The Eagles travel to face league rival Eastern Kentucky, which is 5-0 in the OVC, on Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET.
