Women's Tennis absorbs 6-1 defeat at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—
Morehead State women's tennis fell to Louisville on Sunday afternoon, 6-1, at the Bass-Rudd tennis center.
 
MSU (0-2) was swept in doubles competition, as the first match featured the pair of sophomore Maria Orellana and freshman Lindsey Wild losing 6-0 to Elle Stokes and Ariana Rodriquez. Junior Hayley Wild and freshman Zina Mehikic were outmatched by Olivia Boesing and Sena Suswam, 6-2. The final match went unfinished with senior Ayaka Terashi and sophomore Aleksandra Savic down 5-1.
 
Terashi picked up the lone win of the day for MSU, defeating Stokes in the fourth match of singles play, 6-3, 4-3 before Stokes retired. Orellana, Savic, Mehikic, Hayley Wild and Lindsey Wild were all defeated in straight sets.
 
The Eagles will have a short turnaround as they will host East Tennessee State at the EAGLE Center courts on Wednesday at 10 a.m. ET.
