Terashi adds a win, but women's tennis falters against LWC

MOREHEAD, Ky.—Morehead State women's tennis absorbed a 6-1 setback to Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) on Tuesday afternoon at Sadler Courts.

LWC was ranked No. 3 in the NAIA.
 
Senior Ayaka Terashi picked up a singles victory against Henar Munoz in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. It was Terashi's second win of the season and her first since Jan. 31 at Louisville. Freshman Zina Mehikic showed brilliance in her match against Jessica King, winning the first set 6-1. King battled back in the second set to even the score with a 6-3 win. The third set went King's way, 10-6, taking down the Eagles' freshman.
 
In doubles play, Terashi and Mehikic were defeated 6-3 by Munoz and Mar Pados. Junior Hayley Wild and sophomore Maria Orenella suffered the same fate, dropping their match 6-2 to Fiona Curty and King. Freshman Lindsey Wild and sophomore Aleksandra Savic were defeated 6-0 to the pair of Gabriella Pedroza and Natalia Kattah.
 
Next up will be a Saturday afternoon affair at Northern Kentucky with a start time of 3:30 p.m. ET.
