Sophomore Maria Orellana played in the second position and battled Regina Nychytailova before absorbing a 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) loss.

Sophomore Aleksanda Savic and freshman Lindsey Wild dropped pro-set decisions (8-1 and 8-0, respectively, at Nos. 4 and 6). Senior Ayaka Terashi dropped a 6-3, 6-4 match at No. 1 to Lyn Yee Choo.

The visitors also took the doubles point, claiming 6-3 victories at Nos. 1 and 3. The second match, featuring Hayley Wild and Mehikic, was knotted 5-5 before being halted.

Morehead State returns to action at 10 a.m. ET Friday at Marshall. The Thundering Herd are ranked 56th in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association national poll.
