Women's Tennis drops match against No. 56 Marshall, 7-0

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.—The Morehead State women's tennis team dropped its match at No. 56 Marshall, 7-0, at the Brian David Fox Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
 
The tandem of senior Ayaka Terashi and sophomore Maria Orellana challenged the Herd's Derya Turhan and Rachel Morales in double competition but suffered a 6-3 setback. The Eagles lost the following two matches as junior Hayley Wild and freshman Zina Mehikic faltered in their match, 6-2, and the team of sophomore Aleksandra Savic and freshman Lindsey Wild fell 6-0.
 
Savic hung tough with Marija Bogicevic in singles competition, but lost in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. Terashi, Orellana, Mehikic, Lindsey Wild, and Hayley Wild were all beat in straight sets.
 
On Saturday MSU will be in action in Bloomington, Ind., against both Indiana and Western Michigan. Play against the Hoosiers will begin at 2:30 p.m. ET and matches against the Broncos will begin at 6 p.m.
