BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—Morehead State women's tennis (0-6) lost both matches against Indiana and Western Michigan on Saturday at the IU Tennis Center.
 
In the first match of the day against IU, Morehead State went down 6-1. In singles competition Junior 
Hayley Wild battled with Kim Schimider, winning the match 6-4, 7-6 with a 7-3 tiebreaker. Senior 
Ayaka Terashi pushed Madison Appel to the brink but fell 7-6 (7-5), 6-2. Freshman 
Zina Mehikic challenged Sarah Mclean, losing 7-6 (7-5), 6-2.
 
In doubles competition, the Eagles were swept with the team of sophomore 
Aleksandra Savic and freshman 
Lindsey Wild losing a close contest with the Hoosiers' Danielle Wolf and Sarah Baron, 6-3.
 
In the nightcap Morehead State played to four with WMU, but lost 4-0. 
Hayley Wild once again went deep into her match, losing 6-4, 7-6 to Katja Fevralev. Sophomore 
Maria Orellana and 
Lindsey Wild lost their matches in straight sets, while Terashi, Mehikic, and Savic had their matches go unfinished.
 
During doubles play, Terashi and Orellana suffered a 6-1 setback to Tracy Kuhleand and Melina Lyubomirova. 
Lindsey Wild and Savic were held to a 6-0 defeat by Denise Azuci and Olivia Myers. 
Hayley Wild and Mehikic had their match go unfinished.
"We had a quick learning curve this weekend," said Head Coach 
Kevin Fulton. "I'm very proud of 
Hayley Wild, Aya Terashi, and 
Zina Mehikic. We made a huge jump with our mentality."
 
The Eagles will be back in action in two weeks on Feb. 20 against James Madison in White Sulpher Springs, W.Va., at the Greenbriar Resort.
