Women's tennis drops 5-2 decision to JSU

JACKSONVILLE, Ala.—Morehead State women's tennis continued Ohio Valley Conference play with a 5-2 loss to Jacksonville State on Saturday afternoon at JSU Tennis Courts.

The Eagles moved to 2-13 overall and 2-3 in the conference. JSU moved its record to 6-13 for the season and 4-2 in the OVC.

Senior Ayaka Terashi collected her sixth win this season, defeating Oliva Nguyen in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. Freshman Zina Mehikic also picked up her sixth win, upsetting Claudia Marsala 6-4, 6-3.

The Gamecocks picked up the first point of the afternoon in doubles competition. Junior Hayley Wild and sophomore Maria Orellana lost 6-3 to Marsala and Diana Mirceta. Freshman Lindsey Wild and sophomore Aleksandra Savic were defeated 6-1 by Courtney Conley and Sadey St. Amant.

Morehead State will take on rival Eastern Kentucky at Tom Higgins Tennis Courts Tuesday starting at 11 a.m. ET
