RESULTS (EKU | TTU)
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State's Beach Volleyball program opened its 2025 season on a high note Friday, earning victories at the Grand Sands facility in Ohio over Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee Tech to start 2-0.
The Eagles got wins at Nos. 1, 3 and 4 to upend former OVC rival EKU first, then claimed the first four pairings against Tech to win 4-1. The TTU match does not count in the OVC standings.
No. 1 pair
Irene Wogenstahl and
Bella Marita won both their matchups today, claiming a three-set (21-17, 24-26, 15-7) win over EKU and a straight-set winner against TTU. At No. 3,
Peighton Isley and
Sarah Heath also got two wins, both in three-set fashion and both after dropping the first stanza. They defeated their EKU adversaries 16-21, 21-18, 15-13 and won against the Golden Eagles 18-21, 21-14, 15-12.
No. 4 pair
Brenna Bommer and
Shea Hefner also collected two wins. They defeated their EKU and TTU counterparts in straight sets.
At No. 2,
M.E. Hargan and
Sydney Wyman fell to EKU but rebounded for a 21-16, 16-21, 15-10 win against TTU.
Morehead State continues play at the Grand Sands Tournament Saturday versus Liberty at 8 a.m. ET and Austin Peay at 2 p.m.
