BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Morehead State women's tennis team collected 16 wins this past weekend at the Virginia Tech Hokie Fall Invitational, played at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
"This was an incredibly stacked tournament in terms of the teams here," Head Coach Kevin Fulton said. "The team has been working so hard this fall, and I am happy to see our improvement. We defeated some very quality opponents in this tournament."
Sophomore Hayley Wild picked up three singles victories, while senior Alex Tachovsky, junior Ayaka Terashi and freshman Aleksandra Savic won twice in singles action.
Tachovsky and Terashi also teamed up for a pair of doubles victories.
The field included George Mason, James Madison, Liberty, Maryland-Baltimore County, Marshall, Penn State, Radford, VCU, Virginia Tech and Wofford.
The team will compete at the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regionals in Knoxville, Tenn., on Oct. 16-20.
