Morehead State sophomores Andrea LeBlanc and Hayley Wild teamed up to win a doubles flight, and the women's tennis team claimed eight victories at the Northern Kentucky Invitational this past weekend in the event held at the Joyce Yeager Complex.

The duo opened flight A with an 8-2 triumph over NKU pair Nicole Soutar and Rheanna Morehart. They defeated Dayton sisters Jackie and Jae Kawamoto, 8-1, in the semifinals. LeBlanc and Wild edged Hailey Shanahan and Danielle Donahue of NKU, 8-7 (7-3) to claim the title.

MSU also got doubles victories from the teams of senior Alex Tachovsky and junior Ayaka Terashi and junior Dominique Chante-Mclean and freshman Maria Orenalla.

Terashi claimed a singles victory, knocking off Rachel Swartwood of IUPUI 6-4, 6-1. LeBlanc also picked up a win in singles play, getting the better of Donahue, 3-6, 7-5, 10-3. Orenalla rounded out the singles wins, ousting Maria Scheiger of IUPUI, 6-1, 6-2.
