Live Stats | Listen Live | Game Notes

CINCINNATI, Ohio –
Morehead State will hit the road for the first time in three weeks Wednesday as they head north to face the University of Cincinnati Bearcats at 5 p.m. at Marge Schott Stadium. The game can be listened to live as an internet-only broadcast of the Eagle Sports Network.

MSU enters the contest at 17-14 after winning nine of 12 during the recent homestand. The Eagle swept SIU Edwardsville over the weekend to move their record over .500 for the first time since the opening weekend of the season. The Bearcats, 13-12 on the year and 2-4 in BIG EAST play, lost two out of three over the weekend to South Florida, and have dropped eight of their last 11.

Morehead State continues to be led by the senior tandem of Drew Lee and #J.D. Ashbrook#. The two sluggers lead MSU in almost every offensive category and rank in the top ten nationally in six offensive categories. Lee is tied for the national lead in hits and set the MSU career record for hits with his third hit in Sunday’s finale with SIUE. Ashbrook is second in the country in runs scored and sixth in home runs, but was forced to sit out Sunday’s game with an injury.

Sophomore Matthew Robertson will get the start for the Eagles. Robertson is 0-1 on the season with a 12.94 era. Josh Schneider and Hunter Hewitt lead the MSU bullpen. Each hurler has appeared in a club-high 15 contests, while Schneider is tied for third in the country with six wins.

Cincinnati is led by Mikel Huston and T.J. Jones at the plate. Both are batting over .300 on the year, while Kevin Johnson has hit four home runs and drove in 20 to lead the Bearcats in those categories.

UC lefthander Thomas Gentile will get the start on Wednesday. Gentile is 0-0 with a 7.80 era in three starts this season. Gentile has also appeared out of the bullpen twice and struck out eight in 15.0 innings of work.

The Eagles will hit the road again this weekend as they head to Charleston, Illinois for a three-game Ohio Valley Conference Set with Eastern Illinois.
