Charlie Bowles played for the men’s golf team at Morehead State from 1979-82. He lettered all four years for the Eagles. He was named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the year in 1981.

A native of Mt. Sterling, Ky., Bowles led MSU to the conference championship in 1981. He was selected to All-OVC three times.

Bowles was one of the top amateurs in the area while he was at MSU. He joined the Professional Golf Association (PGA) Tour after leaving the University and remains a PGA club professional. He has participated in many of golf’s top tournaments, including the United States Open. His best finish came at the New England Classic where he tied for fifth place.
