Henderson “Heckie” Thompson played basketball for Morehead State from 1958-61. Thompson averaged 17.1 points and 6.9 rebounds a game as a senior.

A native of Stockdale, Ohio, Thompson was a member of the Eagles’ 1960-61 that finished 19-12. That team shared the Ohio Valley Championship, won the OVC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament where they defeated Xavier before losing to Kentucky and Louisville.

Following his career at MSU, Thompson went on to be a successful teacher and coach as Western High School in Waverly, Ohio.
