Howard Wallen played basketball for Morehead State from 1971-74. He is a member of the elite 1,000 point club at MSU. He was an All-American in high school and was a First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection in 1971-72.

Wallen amassed 1,011 points for MSU but was more widely known for his assisting skills on the court. At the time of his induction he ranked third in school history with 411 assists.  He led his team in assists as a senior with 123. That year he posted a .497 shooting percentage while averaging nine points per game. He helped win a share of two OVC Championships while at MSU.

A native of Williamsport, Ky., Wallen went on to be a graduate assistant for the Eagles after completing his bachelor’s degree.
